Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine and analyze the influence of responsibility and discipline on the work performance of employees at the Berau District Education Office. The research was conducted on 149 employees as respondents.

The results of this study indicate the effect on the validity of all variables showing the value of r count > r table so that it is declared valid. In the validity test, all Cronbach's Alpha values show a value > 0.60 so it can be stated that all the measurement concepts of each variable from the questionnaire are reliable.

The results of the T test are known from the significance value for the effect of X1 on Y is 0.113 > 0.05 and the t count is 1.593 < t table is 1.976. So it can be concluded that although there is a positive effect, it is not significant so it can be said that H1 is rejected. The H2 test is known from the significance value for the effect of X2 on Y is 0.272 > 0.05 and t count is 1.102 < t table 1.976. So it can be concluded that although there is a positive but not significant effect, it can be said that H2 is also rejected.

The results of the F test are known from the significance value for the significant effect of X1 and X2 on Y, which is 0.001 <0.05 and the calculated F value is 8.447 > F table 3.04, so it can be concluded that H3 is accepted. The results of the coefficient of determination test, namely the effect of X1 and X2 simultaneously on Y is 10.4%.
