https://www.jurnal-umberau.com/index.php/mandela/article/view/1077

This community service activity (KKN) of Universitas Muhammadiyah Berau
aims to increase the understanding and awareness of Micro, Small, and Medium
Enterprises (MSMEs) in Kampung Pulau Besing regarding the importance of
obtaining the Home Industry Food Permit (PIRT) as a form of legality for
processed food products. Kampung Pulau Besing is one of the tourism-based
villages in Berau with strong potential for developing local products as typical
souvenirs. However, field observations show that most MSMEs have not yet
fulfilled food safety standards and lack knowledge about the PIRT registration
process. This program was implemented through a collaborative approach
between the Community Service Program (KKN) Team of Universitas
Muhammadiyah Berau and Puskesmas Merancang Ulu by conducting food
safety education, explaining PIRT requirements, and introducing safe
production practices. The results indicate that MSMEs gained better awareness
of food safety, production hygiene, and the steps required to obtain PIRT
certification. This activity is expected to motivate MSMEs to improve product
quality, expand marketing opportunities, and enhance competitiveness in
supporting Pulau Besing as a tourism village.
Meilani AuliaTiarasari MawiSurti Milarisa

Clean and Healthy Living Behavior (PHBS) is a daily practice that is essential for
maintaining health. For elementary school children, the implementation of PHBS must
be instilled from an early age so they become accustomed to living healthily,
independently, and caring for the environment. Through the Friends Without Borders
approach, children can learn to maintain personal hygiene while respecting differences
and fostering a sense of camaraderie. This study aims to describe the importance of
PHBS for elementary school children as part of character and health education. The
results indicate that PHBS can improve children's health, prevent disease, and strengthen
friendships through collaboration in maintaining the school environment.
Siti MunawarohSayugo Adi PurwantoDawami BuchoriAbdul HakimRizky SeptianBaiq Ira S.WAyundaTambaru Tambaru

https://www.jurnal-umberau.com/index.php/mandela/article/view/1087

This study examined the effectiveness of a community empowerment program through education on the employment social security program of BPJS Ketenagakerjaan in Kampung Semurut, Berau Regency. The problem addressed was the low level of knowledge and awareness among informal sector workers regarding employment social security, which limited their participation in the program. The objective of the study was to increase community understanding and awareness of the benefits and mechanisms of BPJS Ketenagakerjaan. The study employed a community-based participatory research approach with a descriptive qualitative design. The population consisted of informal sector workers, and the research subjects were selected purposively. Data were collected through observations, interviews, and pre-test and post-test questionnaires. The findings showed a clear improvement in participants’ knowledge, awareness, and attitudes toward employment social security after the educational intervention. Participants demonstrated better understanding of program benefits, registration procedures, and the importance of social protection. The study concluded that community-based educational empowerment was effective in enhancing social security literacy and encouraging positive attitudes toward participation in employment social security programs, thereby supporting sustainable welfare improvement among rural communities.
Merlin DSafitri Nurhidayati

https://www.jurnal-umberau.com/index.php/mandela/article/view/1104

The development of the Oksibil Urban Area as a center of government and service activities in Pegunungan Bintang Regency faces significant challenges in building and environmental planning. This community service activity aims to assist the Regional Government in identifying and analyzing existing conditions, as well as formulating concepts and designs for building and environmental planning in the Oksibil Urban Main Road Corridor. The Oksibil Urban Main Road Corridor has strategic potential as the backbone of urban activities that connects vital city functions, such as trade and services, government, education, health, as well as public spaces, spatial planning and aesthetics, accessibility and economic/commercial connectivity. In addition to its potential, there are also several problems, namely road and drainage infrastructure problems, irregular land use, lack of public space planning and urban landscape, suboptimal public facilities and city services, the absence of local urban public transportation, lack of development control and coordination between agencies. Based on the issue of building and environmental planning problems, the vision for the development of the RTBL Area can be formulated, namely "Arrangement of the Oksibil-Boromokot Street Corridor in Oksibil Urban Area as an Environmentally Aware City Space, with Local Cultural Character, and Supporting Spatial Integration and Community Activities".
Arkam ArkamDwi FitrianingsihWahyu Atiq WidiantoroDjufri DjufriAgista Aristia AriniMupit Datusahlan
