Pendampingan Digitalisasi UMKM Berbasis Teknologi Informasi untuk Pemberdayaan Ekonomi Kerakyatan di Kabupaten Berau, Kalimantan Timur

Abstrak

Berau Regency is the region with the highest Regency Minimum Wage (MSE) in East
Kalimantan in 2024, but is facing challenges in shifting its economic structure from the
dominance of the mining sector to a sustainable economic model based on tourism and
Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs). This service aims to explore the
digitalization of MSMEs as a strategic alternative in strengthening the people's economy
during the post-mining transition period. This activity aims to analyze the digitalization
practices of MSMEs in Berau Regency and formulate a sustainable model for empowering
the people's economy. This study adopts a mixed-method approach, combining a
structured survey of 25 MSME actors, in-depth interviews with a number of stakeholders,
and a review of regional policy documents. The sampling technique was carried out
purposively, and the data were analyzed using descriptive methods and thematic analysis.
The findings show that only 35% of MSME actors in Berau have utilized digital
technology in marketing activities, while the majority (78%) still rely on conventional
approaches. The implementation of the digitalization program has a significant impact in
the form of an increase in turnover of up to 45% and market expansion by 60%. This
shows that digitalization has proven to be an effective strategy in strengthening the
people's economy in post-mining areas. However, the sustainability of these initiatives
requires an integrated approach, including strengthening digital infrastructure, building
human resource capacity, and consistent policy support from the government.
